The Story

Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me, as is ever so on the road.

Shame. We finally get a British superhero, and he’s a bit boring.

The only negative review so far of The Amazing Spider Man loses all credibility with this gaff as its opening lines.

When I was a kid, I was never that into superheroes. I was into them enough to own the toys and watch the tv shows, like most young boys I suppose, but reading the comics and wanting to know their back stories was always too much for me. I had other interests that took priority. Now even though the same still applied for Spider-man, man did I freaking love Spider-man. IMAX first night of The Amazing Spider-man just had to be done.

I can’t put my finger on exactly why but I don’t think I liked this. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good film with, all be it expectedly, exceptional performances from the leads but it didn’t quite do anything for me. The story of Never Let Me Go has been well discussed over the years so there was no surprises and maybe being excited for it for such a long time made me expect a whole lot more. Oh well.

The 31 Best Films Of 2010 - No. 1

The Social Network

You hear they’re releasing a movie about Facebook?
That’s the lamest thing I’ve ever heard.

That Facebook movie is an adaptation on a Ben Mezrich book.
Meh, good writer but the film of ‘Bringing Down The House’ was terrible. This will be equally as painful.

You know David Fincher is directing that Facebook movie?
Really?! Oh well it’s about time Fincher made a bad film. Starting to think that man was superhuman or something. I never thought I’d see the day Fincher uses poking and “wtf’s” in his films though.

Aaron Sorkin is doing the screenplay for Facebizzle movie.
Hmmmm. So we’re going to get a ingeniously written script which I no doubt will be ruined by some one dimensional Gossip Girl style cast.

Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield have been cast as the leads for Fincher’s Networking thing.
Maybe this will actually be half decent then, it’s got some pretty heavy material behind it. Those two are currently the best young actors out there. It does all sounds a little too geeky though.

It’s also got Justin Timberlake in it.
OH MY DAYS, THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST FILM OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

The Social Network was hands down the best film of year.
